医療は２０世紀後半から飛躍的に進歩し続けていますが、特に、医薬品を用いた治療の進歩は目覚しいものがあります。まず、分子生物学や遺伝子解析の技術が進み、体をコントロールしているからくりが分子のレベルで明らかになってきました。そして、多くの病気でこの調節機構がうまく働かなくなっていることも明らかになり、このような病気を治すための医薬品の開発も急ピッチで進んでいます。病気の原因が明らかになるに従って、よく効く薬いわゆる「切れの良い薬」が盛んに開発されてきましたが、よく効く薬を使っていると、様々な強い副作用が起こることも明らかになってきました。薬の使い方は、人に使う場合には一筋縄ではいかないものです。一人一人年齢も体重も、薬を代謝分解する肝臓の働きや尿中に排泄する腎臓の機能も、そして病気の程度も皆それぞれ違うので、一人一人に合った薬物療法をすることが大事だということが分かってきました。
このようなことを背景に、薬を病院でさまざまな病気の人に使う場合に、よりよく効いて、しかも安全な使い方をするにはどうしたらよいかを検討することが必要になりました。
私たちの研究室では、群馬大学病院薬剤部、各診療科および中央診療部門との連携のもと、有効で安全な薬物療法の推進に向けた科学的根拠の追及と臨床へのフィードバックを目的として、ヒトを対象とした、薬物動態学的・薬力学的研究を展開しています。
Medical care has continued to make dramatic progress since the latter half of the 20th century, but the progress of medical treatment using medicines is particularly remarkable. First, advances in molecular biology and gene analysis technologies have revealed the mechanism that controls the body at the molecular level. It has also become clear that this regulatory mechanism is not working well in many illnesses, and the development of medicines to cure such illnesses is progressing at a rapid pace. As the cause of illness becomes clear, so-called "smart medicines" that work well have been actively developed, but it has become clear that various strong side effects occur when using medicines that work well. I did. How to use medicine is not straightforward when it is used for humans. Each person’s age and weight, the function of the liver that metabolizes and decomposes the drug, the function of the kidneys that excrete in the urine, and the degree of illness are all different, so it is important to provide drug therapy that suits each person. I have come to understand that. Against this background, when using medicines for people with various illnesses in hospitals, it became necessary to consider how to use them more effectively and safely. In our laboratory, in collaboration with the Pharmacodynamics Department of Gunma University Hospital, each clinical department, and the central clinical department, the purpose is to pursue the scientific basis for promoting effective and safe drug therapy and to provide clinical feedback. We are developing pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic research targeting humans.
