耳鼻咽喉科学・頭頸部外科学は頸部及び頭部のなかで眼球と脳を除いた領域を対象とします。この領域には聴覚、平衡覚、嗅覚、味覚などの感覚器に加え、発声や摂食・嚥下などヒトの生活の質（QOL）に関わる部分が多く存在します。
当教室では、１）耳科学：めまいを中心とした神経耳科学、中耳炎に対する病態と治療、人工内耳埋め込みと言語訓練、幼児難聴と補聴器適応、２）鼻科学：アレルギー性鼻炎、好酸球性副鼻腔炎の上気道免疫アレルギーの病態研究や嗅覚障害の診断と治療、３）頭頸部外科学：頭頸部癌におけるがん微小環境や免疫抑制機構の研究、免疫療法の開発、４）喉頭学：音声改善の手術療法といったことが現在の主な研究テーマで、常に臨床を意識して研究を進めています。
