Nephrology and Rheumatology <Clinical Medicine Department of Internal Medicine>
当教室は腎臓病学、リウマチ・膠原病学の2つの内科領域が専門です。この特徴を活かして、免疫学的機序による腎疾患（IgA腎症、膜性腎症、半月体形成性腎炎等）や腎障害を来すリウマチ性疾患（SLE、ANCA関連血管炎等）の診療を得意としています。特にSLE・ループス腎炎においては、旧第三内科学教室の時代より多くの患者さんの診療を行っており、現在ではわが国の代表的な施設の1つとして、診療・研究を推進しています。また基礎研究として、糸球体障害機序の解明、腎線維化機序の解析、自己免疫性疾患における樹状細胞の関与の検討などにも積極的に取り組んでいます。教室員の力を結集し、腎疾患、リウマチ性疾患に対する高いレベルの診療を行いつつ、両疾患の病態解明、診断・治療法の開発に関する研究を行い、国内外にその成果を発信しています。
Our department handles two fields of internal medicine: nephrology and rheumatology. Taking advantage of this combination, we are specialized in the treatments of immunological renal diseases (IgA nephropathy, membranous nephropathy, and crescentic glomerulonephritis, etc.) and rheumatic diseases complicate with renal injury (SLE and ANCA-associated vasculitis, etc.). Especially, we have been treated many SLE and lupus nephritis patients since the era of the former Third Department of Internal Medicine. At present, we promote clinical practice and research of SLE and lupus nephritis as the representative institutions in Japan. Besides, we actively conduct basic research on glomerular injury, renal fibrosis, and dendritic cells in autoimmune diseases. We bring together the power of members to provide high-level clinical practice and to carry out clinical and basic research.
