2024年6月、群馬大学に新しく腫瘍内科学講座が誕生いたしました。私たちの科は、がんの進行度にあわせて薬物療法や免疫療法を提供する専門科です。地域に根ざしたがん診療の拠点として、個々の患者さんにとって最善・最適ながん診療を提供することが、私たちの最大の使命です。教育・研究においては、医学生・若手医師に臨床腫瘍学を教育するのみでなく、広く一般の方々に向けてがん診療を学ぶ・体験する機会を作っていきたいと考えています。さらに、国内外のがん専門施設や企業と連携し、新薬や新規治療法の開発、副作用に対する支持療法、高齢者への治療、治療と並行した緩和ケア、Webや人工知能を利用した新たながん診療など、より安全で効果的な治療を求めて研修を進めていきます。ここ群馬からがん領域における新しいエビデンスを発信していきます。
がん治療は患者さんだけでも、主治医だけでもできません。患者さんやそのご家族と医療チームが一緒になって取り組むものです。お互いに手を取り合い、目標に向かって着実に前進していきましょう。

In June 2024, a new Department of Oncology was established at Gunma University. Our department specializes in providing pharmacotherapy and immunotherapy tailored to the stage of cancer progression. Serving as a hub for regional cancer care, our primary mission is to deliver the best and most appropriate cancer treatment for each individual patient.

In terms of education and research, our aim extends beyond teaching clinical oncology to medical students and young physicians; we also seek to create opportunities for the general public to learn about and experience cancer care. Furthermore, through collaboration with domestic and international cancer specialty facilities and companies, we will advance training in the development of new drugs and treatment methods, supportive therapy for side effects, treatment for the elderly, concurrent palliative care with treatment, and innovative cancer care utilizing the web and artificial intelligence, all in pursuit of safer and more effective treatments.
From Gunma, we will disseminate new evidence in the field of oncology.

Cancer treatment cannot be achieved best performance by patients alone or by physicians alone. It requires collaboration between patients, families, and the medical team. Let us join hands and steadily move forward towards our goals together.
