Gunma University Faculty of Medicine was founded in 1943 as the Maebashi Medical School. The school was renamed to Maebashi Medical College in 1947, and then was integrated into Gunma University in 1949. School of Health Sciences was established in 1996. The Faculty is a center of medical education and reseach in Kitakanto district, and has raised many excellent doctors, medical researchers, nurses, clinical technologists, and physical and occupational therapists. The affiliated Gunma University Hospital contributes to the society as a Medical Center of the community, and is practicing advanced medical treatment as one of Special Functioning Hospital in Japan. |
