病態総合外科学（外科学第一）
1）当教室は消化器外科、呼吸器外科、移植外科、内分泌外科、小児外科を専門とする総合外科学教室であり、生命倫理、患者の権利を重視し、warm heart、cool head、skilled handを備えた、国際性のある診療、研究を目指しています。 2）診療面においては、鏡視下手術を早くから取り入れ、胆嚢のみならず腹部、胸部のほとんどの臓器を対象にして施行しています。一方、高度先進医療の開発、施行にも力を入れており、膵腫瘍に対する腹腔鏡補助下膵切除術、内視鏡下頸部良性腫瘍摘出術、腹腔鏡下肝切除術、がん化学療法に対する感受性試験が厚生省から現在認可されています。 3）研究面においてはがん研究、免疫、消化管生理、再生医療研究を中心に行っており、毎年数十編前後の英文原著論文を国際誌に発表しています。

1)当科の大学院生は臨床グループを縦糸に、基礎研究グループを横糸に、その両方に同時に所属することにより、臨床と研究の両面からの有機的な研究が可能です。
2)基礎研究グループには、病理組織分野、分子生物学、腫瘍学、手術侵襲学、消化管運動生理学、臓器移植学、再生医療があります。臓器別臨床グループには、食道、胃、大腸、肝胆膵、移植、小児、呼吸器・縦隔、乳腺甲状腺があります。
3)積極的に国内、国外の他大学や研究所に大学院生を派遣し、最新の研究技術を導入する事に努めています。
4)2004年度よりこれらの研究成果をまとめた論文集を毎年発行しており、2010年度の英文論文数は32編（内、1編はOnline Journal）でした。
1)外科医としての基本的な知識、技術を身に付けさせるために医学部学生実習から医療技術教育を行っています。学生は外科チームの一員として積極的に手術、検査に参加してもらっています。
2)研修医教育においては３ヶ月間に二つの外科チームに所属して専門的な知識、技術の習得を目標とし、将来、外科を専門にした場合でも、スムーズに外科に移行できるように教育しています。初期研修中に上級医の指導の下、術者としての経験を積ませるようにしています。
3)大学院教育においては、研究目的を理解させ、計画的に研究が遂行できるように教育しています。また、研究結果に基づいた新たな展開を指導し，国際的学術雑誌への投稿を進めています。
１．ＮＰＯ法人群馬がんアカデミーを市民・医療従事者・医学部等学生にがんを中心とした医療全般の人道的・社会的・文化的・教育的活動を行い社会福祉に寄与することを目的として平成１６年１２月に設立しました。
２．群馬がんアカデミーの事業活動は、1)市民へのがんの知識の普及、啓発および検診の必要性の啓蒙、2)がん患者への専門家によるカウンセリングや患者家族のサポート、3)医療従事者に対する教育や支援およびがん研究に対する助成を行っております。さらに当講座のホームページを通じて疾患の基礎から最新の治療までわかりやすく紹介し、各疾患別の治療成績の公開を行っています。
